HI, I have a Seadoo Challenger from '03. This winter I refurbished the jet dirve so that it is in perfect condition and still it only goes up to 40mph and takes "hours" to get out of the warter. people says that it should go 50-55mph :(

One thing i have been thinking about is if I need to adjust the trim plate under the jetdrive?

Anyone have any ide to what could be wrong?

thanks in advance..

Are we to assume this is a problem from before the rebuild?
You said " and it still only goes 40"

Let's start from scratch. You have the 2 stroke or merc?
The engines revving high but going nowhere?
Or are engines revving fine but no power?

Hi, it a merc 240 efi m2 2stroke, everything seems ok, the rpm meter does not wok so i don't know the rpm. Running the boat on water seems ok but it is slow getting out of the warter ond once at top speed it only goes to 40 where i would expect 50-55

Once i did the rebuild of the drive i expeceted everything to be ok, the stator and the werering was badly damaged and i replaced them, impeller was fine. I added new oile to the stater but not to the back drive.

Any idea on what i should look at?

Could it be the trim plate that needs to be adjusted? Or maby the engine that needs rebuilding, i belive it has been running for 240hrs

Ok. Your best bet is to repost in the merc section and those guys will be able to troubleshoot it faster since they know the boat.
