Hello, I'm brand new to the forum but have been reading over the last several months. I have a 98 seadoo gti. Purchased a new magneto, new engine from SBT, new solenoid, rebuilt carb, new aftermarket mpem and new start/stop switch. When connecting the negative battery cable to the post, it sometimes wants to turn over and other times I just hear a click without key on. The fuse in the solenoid isn't blown nor is the 5amp fuse in the mpem. When I hold down the start button it will only try to turn over for a second or two. The DESS post is good. Starter is good. Getting frustrated on what else it could be. I'm still thinking mpem might be bad. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

To me it sounds like you have a loose wire/ bad end.. I just got a 96 gti I’m working on getting running and the positive cable was poorly attempted to be crimped on a yellow crimp on loop for a battery connector then wrapped with tape 100x.. it gave a little power but not enough to do anything and eventually burn up the little connection it had..you never know what people will do but I soldered a new end on and that problem was solved.. I suggest checking anywhere you see electric tape first or if there’s any movement in the wires at the ends it needs to be replaced or tightened if possible
