So I was rebuilding the RAVE valves on a newly acquired 1997 787 GSX today and saw something I have never seen before. First of all, whoever TRIED to rebuild the raves put the PTO side in upside down, second they used so much silicone it was stuck to everything. Anyway, I pulled the housing off and went to cleaning them and BOTH of them had rubber plugs in the exhaust port. Both had little rubber pieces that fit the entire exhaust chamber on the housing and plugged down into the port on the engine. Has anyone ever seen those before? I have looked at every manual I can find, looked at part schematics and cannot see that on any model for any year. My understanding was that port was used to inflate the bellows and change pressure as speed increases or decreases. If anyone can give me any insight to this, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
