Sea Doo iCatch Trailer Has Problems

I recently purchased a used 2010 Sea Doo GTX iS with what looked like the neatest trailer; an iCatch trailer. The previous owner did not have any issues with the trailer but within the first two weeks of owning it, the cable that releases the jet ski from the trailer snapped. I found out quickly it is a recall item that the previous owner said he never received and notice about. I tried my local Sea Doo dealer, Foothills Motorsports in Powdersville, Sc and they do not support this model trailer. I emailed my extended warranty and they confirmed it was a recall and would be covered and to just take it to my local dealer. Any dealer was their words. Well, not my local dealer or any of the other ones within 100 miles. Best Protection -BRP promised to follow up but so far a week has passed and no action on their promise.

The trailer is really cool when is was working. You back into the watter, start the ski and pull the release handle to back off the trailer. The best part is returning to the trailer. Pull right up and the ski locks in place. There is even a sweet walk around so you don't have to jump into waist deep water to get to your car. As nice as this trailer appears, it is not worth the hassle of dealing with Sea Doo. They evidently so not believe in customer service... even on a recall item. After reading several other forums others seem to agree. i really want to be a satisfied Sea Doo customer as my whole family loves the jet ski but Sea Doo get a big fat "F" when it comes to backing their product. I ended up filing a complaint with the NHTSA. maybe that will kick Sea Doo in the butt and motivate them to fullfil their obligations.

I purchased a new Seadoo last year with a icatch trailer and never had a problem with it..I do now have a double icatch and this trailer is a problem..The icatch system does not catch the jetski. Someone has to put their fingers in danger and attach the safety cable so I can drive up to a area that pinched forward and shake the jetski around until I get the icatch to lock. I am working with Seadoo and I will let you know what they do for me...I hope they are resolving your problem..
