I have just picked up this Seadoo with 60 hours on it. Goes great on the water but when I take it out of the water there is water on the plastic cover on the engine20130317_162012.jpg20130317_162029 - Copy.jpg from the weep holes in the seat. Further down the engine there is salt crystalised on the hot parts of the engine. Is this normal?? It takes quite a lot of flushing with the hose to remove all of the salt. Water then lays in the pockets of the bilge regardless of how high I tilt the machine on the trailer.

Seems like a few design faults to me, I have attached some pix of the salt build up. Has any one else had this issue?

you have a leak, and it is spraying on to the underneath part of the seat, back it to the water with both front and rear tie down on tight , run it with seat off and look for leak , your pix are a classic sign of this

Thanks for the quick response. Happy to do this on my next run.

Last time I was out I checked under the seat after running on flat water and all was good. Then I went out over a pretty big wave section, a lot of spray and ended up drenched. I then took it back to the ramp. Looked under the seat again and the salt build up had appeared and I can see water coming from small holes in the plastic mould from under the seat.

The issue is a known one. The seat foam absorbs water and leaks it on the engine. I solved the issue by having my seat cover removed and wrapping the foam in Plastic and putting the seat cover back on.

It is good to hear that I am not the only one. I would have thought that seadoo would have come up with something themselves?? Can you explain a bit more in terms of what type of plastic you used and how you applied it?
