Well i have an 06 RXT that was reading High / Low voltage for the first 5 mins of every ride, then would go away. I Have put in about 5 hours like that with no issues at all. Yesterday started noticing “beeps” when I went over 6000rpm, and then got the “low 12v” message, the ski still ran good, but to be safe I went ahead and swapped the voltage regulator out with a new one. The old one was just sitting there and never mounted. The battery (Red & Black) wires were so corroded the connection literally broke in pieces. The 3 pin connector was saved but corroded (green). So I hard wired the red / black then cleaned the connectors as best I could without damaging the pins. I went to test it this morning and it ran like garabage. Run for 15 secs and big then shut down, would want to take off and then just stall out. Also when I took the ski out the new regulator was hot!!!! Could the new regulator be bad? Still corrosion I can’t see? Should the three yellow wires be hard wired as well to bypass the corrosive connections? Appreciate any advice

Yes, the rectifier/regulator could be bad. You need to downlaod the service manual and perform the tests on the charging system.

Well here’s an update: regulator is in (hardwired) and the ski is charging the battery but completely running like garbage on the water! Gauges are going bonkers and the engine starts and stalls then quits all together! What In the world would cause this craziness! ??
