RAVE Position?

I have read several places where the "TOP" engraving on the RAVE valve is to be on top, but my 787 engines are in a position where "TOP" seems ambiguous.

Which way do they go? Bevel to the piston?

Another way, do they go TOP to the piston or TOP toward the exhaust pipe exit?

I think that the bevel goes toward the piston, but I R&R'd them as they were placed and that was TOP toward the piston. It runs fine (now).

Bevel away from the pistons

"TOP" should face toward head of motor..

Nope, that's opposite isn't it?

TOP facing the head is the same thing as saying TOP facing the piston. That means that mine are in correctly: flat side against the piston. Concave toward the exhaust pipe.

But it still seems wrong. I would have assumed that the exhaust pressure would cantelever the bevel and push up the valve.

I am sorry I had told you wrong without first checking, I went out and did confirm "TOP" towards pistions/head......although mine do not say top on them. Mine are installed correctly I just told you wrong sorry for my mistake

No prob, glad to hear I have it right. Whilst on the thread, I came across an odd thing> my manual refers to a reserve fuel capacity, but there is no reserve fuel switch. What's up with that?

yeah, confused me to, when removing them...you'd think the "bevel" would be positioned to allow the gas to hit hit...?
