Put 1997 spx stock sponsons on to 1992 xp for stability

I have a 1997 spx hull just sitting here with stock sponsons.

Can or should i put them on my 1992 xp to stabilize better with 2 people....

I've added sponsons to a 92XP before. I missed it on my first guess and it plowed through the water terribly. I had to raise them up so the ski didn't feel like it was towing another one. Of coarse that meant I had 6 drilled holes to fill under the waterline.

My 90 has those big sponsons from an early GTX's and it handles great. I think it's worth doing if you can nail it the first time and avoid extra holes.

Where did u place them and is there a specific angle?


Did it handle alot better? Does it make it easier for 2bppl to ride?

I dont want to have to plug 6 holes like that either sorry to hear that happened thats why i asked everyone here before i do it lol
