96 Challenger problem

I have a 96 single engine challenger, installed a new ware ring, still Very HARD to plain off is it possible the dealer sold me the wrong wear ring(seadoo part #271000290)could the SS impeller be worn that much? Should I pull the pump back out & side the impeller in the check clearence. New engine , runs great, good rpm's, just pump slippage. Also what is the proper clearence between wear ring & impeller. Also when looking up parts it ask USA & Canada , how can I detemine the country where made , or does the pump make any difference. Thanks for all your help guys!

Checking the impeller clearance never hurts. I suspect you have the correct wear ring - I thought they all used the same one until you got into the larger diameter pumps.
If you're getting major slippage, you also might want to look at the carbon seal as it could be putting a lot of air into the water stream and causing cavitation

Thank you for your help , how do I go about checking the carbon steel? How do I know if its bad? What wlii be going on if its bad?
