Pulling skier

I have a 97 seadoo gts with 720 motor 3 seater and live in Washington. Tomorrow I want to pull a tube or wake board with skiers. I haven't pulled a tube on a jetski before. Question is how do I attach the rope to the jetski? On my jetski I see only 2 possible spots but not sure if they are strong enough. There is a grab handle I could tie to on the very back of the seat. but I'm pretty sure that's not the best spot. There is also a c shaped metal ring on the back wall that I use to tie jetski to the trailer for transport. I think this is where I should tie to but again I'm unsure if it's strong enough for the weight of pulling skiers.

Where/how should I attach skier rope to jetski? Or is there something else I need to buy for a mount or???

I have pulled two person tubes and a wakeboarder with the rope attached to the rear metal ring. It works great. There is tons of fiberglass back there. Since your ski has a 720, getting the tube on plane may be a little tricky depending on the type of tube and your riders. I found that starting with the tube a little to the left or right of the ski (not directly behind you) lets you get your ski moving some before it has to pull the tube. This helps get everything moving. Make sure your wear ring is in good shape, otherwise the extra load will really bring on the cavitation. But it should all work fine. Oh, and check your local laws on spotters, number of riders, etc. Every state is different. In NC I can pull tubes with two riders on the tube and no spotter as long as I have mirrors. But in some states, you must have a spotter on the ski, thus limiting you to one tube rider.

I have virtually the same ski you do, a 96 GTI with a 720. Puling tubes can be a little tricky to get started, but it's just a matter of figuring out the best way to get on the throttle, as soccerdad said. I also pull water skis, and that is much easier. Just line up straight and go. Just make sure you don't pull off too fast with respect to the skill of the skier. The caution is to be careful of your turns - it's easy to put slack in the rope.

My understanding of the laws that I need to worry about hear in Washington state is I need to have a 3 seat jet ski, I have to have 3 people, i have to have a driver, a passenger on the jetski to watch the one person on the tube, and then the person being towed. And I have to have a diver down flag to wave when someone's in the water

I know this is really getting technical, but the spotter must be able to rescue the skier. So basically you can't have a small kid as a spotter while towing an adult.

Where I am we have to have a flag on a pole X distance above the highest point of the boat. Most don't use one, mine is a little above our heads. It's just an orange flag on a wooden dowel with suction cups.

Just use your head and have fun!

In Ohio you have to have a spotter watching the towed persons. We have a tube being pulled by 2000 GTI's with 717 engines. Our second ski does chase. So we circle the swimming dis-lodged person in the water. Keeps the weekend boaters from running them over!

So I am at the Columbia River now and just finished towing the tube. It did just fine. 2 on jetski and 1 on tube everyone had fun. Had decent power. Tube did pull the jetski around a little on turns. Overall a good day and I wouldn't have a issue doing this again

It is an orange skier-down flag not the diver down flag. Very different meaning.
