I've got a 97 SPX with the 787 motor.

It's got a problem with losing power when riding it. It sort of cuts out and slows right down for a bit and then it will take off again, this keeps repeating.

I replaced the fuel line and cleaned the carbs and replaced the spark plugs, this made no difference.

I checked the RAV valves and found that one of them hasn't got a spring under the cap.

What effect would this have as the valve wouldn't have the spring holding it closed??

I'm going to get another spring but unsure whether it will fix the problem.

Where do i find the rectifier?

With it disconnected does this mean the battery won't be charging??

How expensive are they normally to replace??

hundred buks...yup, wont charge with it red wire disconnected, so make sure your batterys' charged..only need to do a few passes, and it'll let you know, if the cures it or not.

Look inside the ebox, or its located on the mag cover...2-inch square box with yellow wires and red wire along with black wire.
