So over the weekend, I made a mistake of leaving a rag inside the hull. While riding , The rag got stuck in the shaft and fucked the carbon seal. As a result, my engine now moves. Like if it was off of a motor mount or I had a messed up motor mount. Is that normal when the carbon steel messes up, if the shaft came off Or do i have a bigger problem. ?

Damn......so, I presume that the plastic shield was not in place over the carbon seal? All those PITA parts are actually there for a reason (safety)......bad luck my friend.

Hard to believe a rag could throw a piece of machinery that far out of balance to loosen or break a motor mount.....again, I say DAMN. AS others have stated.....check the motor mounts and all drive components for "true"..... good luck with it.

The plastic shield is open on the bottom so things like rags can still find a way in. Yes, I have forgotten a rag in mine but got lucky before it could gen in bad places.

Thank you all for your good vibes and wishes. And advice. Upon further inspection so far I can definitely confirm my mounts are done. I’m not sure if the shaft is bent, crossing fingers and hoping It’s not and it’s just a simple, put the carbon seal on, put it back in and let’s go type of thing lol. Wish me luck she good vibes. Thanks again to every single one of y’all

You will need an alignment tool to realign the engine or you will eat the driveshaft splines up.
