Since I am new to PWC I want to ask what people think about the oil injection. Sre they safe or should I block that off and premix? Will they give you any warning sign if the oil injection fails??

Seadoo Oil pumps have seldom ever failed, what fails is the small lines going from the
pump to the rotary valve two spigot nipples age after 3-4 years get brittle, crack or
break. These should be replaced every two years. They give the oil injection a bad rap. Pre-mixing is a pain in the a$$ IMO. Bills86e

the major sign that your oil injection lines are going bad is there may be oil in the hull under the motor.

When I got it I did see a little oil in the bottom and I cleaned it out and have not had any in there since taking it 2 times to the lake. I am thinkjng maybe I should change them as well.......How hard is this to do and what size line shoudl I get to replace it with

ok i would go to your local seadoo dealer and get the hose part number414413800. you can get it for $2. I have done it before the only thing i did was when i hooked the new lines in i premixed one tank of gas-oil so that way once the oil pump started spinning it would pump the oil through the new lines. And run the ski for an afternoon and just top off with straght gas and the pump should take be ready and your new lines will show that they are full of oil.

Mark the oil tank at the beginning of each season, mix some premix to give extra oil for the first half hour while watching the tank to see it drop - those little lines fail as mentioned and they also get a gel effect if you mix oil as in not knowing what the previous owner used, if you are in this predicament drain the whole tank and fill with what you can get locally and stick with it, use premix while this oil works it way thru the system 5-8 gallons at a time, when you verify the system is drinking just add gas and go.

Thanks, would you premix 40:1 on the 1st trip?? Also maybe 5 gallons should be enough to start seeing the oil level move in the tank
