Hello Everyone ,
I'm a owner of a 2011 wake 155...and it's my first pwc, I've had boats all my life..and love it
I decided to change the oil, filter and winterized it myself. I'm pretty experienced and do most of the maintenance on my vehicles myself.
Here's the problem.....I pumped out the oil and removed the cap and filter. O rings look fine. So when I screw in the cap with the new filter in , the bolt stops tight just before the cap makes contact with the canister. I noticed the nut on the bottom of the cap bolt so I thought that might have moved causing this, but the nut is tight! I've tried it several times. The filter is the exact size of the old one. I really don't want to bring this to the dealer...can someone help me?
Thanks KB

The long bolt should have a little fat oring on it. Usually doesnt need changing when you change the oil. Usually its the bid orings mostly the thicker one that gets torn. The cap doesnt sit completely sealed on the top. There is a small gap that is left and that is sealed by the thinner of the two big orings. The thicker of the two big ones goes toward the bottom/middle of the cap in the indentation part. Anyways The bolt should have a small oring though. If it does then once you put it all back on make sure your cap is snug on the canister. I had to use a rubber mallet to give it some help dont go crazy on it though just a couple small taps on the top then tighten the bolt. U can start the ski for a couple seconds to see if it sealed, if it doesnt then cap isnt on right or your oring got torn. Anyways dont be alarmed by the small gap tho thats normal.

wow...after a sleepless night thinking I did something wrong..I feel better after your post. THANK YOU! I did run it thinking maybe the gap was there and I didn't realize it when I started. When it ran..I had no leaks..:) well next time, I'm going to take pics before and after.. thanks again!
