Alrite guys i have a 95 speedster TWIN that i picked up. compression was 135 on both cylinders on 1 motor and 115 and 125 on the other. so i took off the head and found that 1 piston is totallly wrecked. upon this i am rebuilding it myself. i have jugs off and everything is ready to go. i am going with a company full bore i found on ebay. you send them your jugs and they remachine it to fit the pistons and send you the kit back. seems like the best deal i can find. $300.00. So i have some quick questions for some of you experienced guys!!
1. how do i tell what motors i have in this speedster? its a 1995 twin. dont know if they are 717/720 or smaller???
2. is there a way to drain anything in the crank? i see some sort of clear fluid down there? might be water? but i did spray silicon spray on everything exposed while rebuild is going on.
3. when rebuilding, do you have to add oil or anything to the crank case or do i not have to worry about that cuz i never drained anything out of the crankcase?
4. it looks like the dome is wrecked as well, what do i do about this? find a new dome or came it get machined?
Thanks for all the help i can get guys!! sorry for the long post
PS if someone knows of a better place to get the work done let me know!!
