I ordered a new impeller and wear ring for my 09 rxp, what other things am I gonna need? This will be my first attempt and I have been reading alot of other post regarding this process. I feel confident I can accomplish this job on my own it really seems like a straight forward process. I am wondering if i chose the right impeller however, i ordered a Solas Concord Impeller - SRZ Series - Pitch 14/19 SRZ-CD-14/19 , that was the recommended prop for my stock rxp according to solas website as far as i can tell. I made a mistake by allowing a friend to use the rxp for a day, I rode it the next weekend and it was cavitating like a boss, I think he may have rode it through a rock quarry :banghead: , Lesson learned, I'm looking forward to getting it pulling like a horse again, i just want to do it right. thanks for any help.

I have a rock lodged between the impeller and the vanes behind it. It has the impeller all chewed up, there are also large gouges cut into the wear ring. that is all can tell at this point without taking anything apart.

Are the vanes messed up as well? If so...when you finally get the prop out and the ring...seen the freezer tip thread?

Clean the pump vanes up as best as you can.

its hard to tell at this point but the vanes appear to be fine, I seen the threads about freezing the wear ring i also seen dr honda's thread about changing impeller and wear ring, im still not sure about the impeller i ordered, from everything i have read it should be good but i get confused with the srz, srx, and r series

just curious here...

Did your "friend" fess up to killing your ski when he returned it? 'Cause you know damned well he knew he fckd it up as soon as that rock hit the prop.

not a word about the cavitation but he payed to have the front right side of the ski repainted and also the left corner where he left it tided to a dock while he ate lunch and it slammed the dock and took off some paint. cant tell anything happened now had it done by professional shop, but im not gonna borrow them out anymore.

He should really be paying for the impellor etc as well. I hate when people borrow stuff and dont treat it with respect.
