I am looking at buying a Seadoo Challenger 180. I found a 2006 with 65 hours on it. It is in good shape and sounded good. They are asking 16k. I didn't know if that is a good price or not. I comes with 2 sets of skis, wakeboard, 2 tubes and life vests. I am also considering buying new. I see that the MSRP on new is around 23k. With the 7k price difference is it worth buying new or not. My main concern is not really knowing the history of the 06 and getting the warranty with the new. Is there anything else that I need to think about when making my decision? Also for those that have bought a new one what type of deals are you getting? Are you able to get the price down or not. Any help would be appreciated.

You should take a look at the both new and used Challenger's on boattrader.com. From what I see the asking price for the used boat is high. You will get a good sense of what the boat should go for after reviewing this site.

What engine does the used boat have?

That is very high. I paid 15k for an 07' with 16 hours on it in May. It came with the bimini top and an installed carpet. You should be paying about 11 for that boat.

I thought that seemed high also. From what I had seen 11k sounded more like it. It has a 215hp engine. Thanks for all the responses.
