NEED HELP 1999 gtx rfi

I have a 1999 gtx rfi the last time I took it out it was fine in the no wake area but when i tried to go into the throttle the engine would rev up but no more thrust. I took the bottom grate off and didn’t find anything. Can anyone help

If the engine is revving up but the ski isn't going anywhere like a slipping clutch it is almost always the wear ring. THe clearance between the impeller and housing should be less than the thickness of a dime, almost touching is better.

I checked and there is almost no gap. Is it possible it needs a new carbon ring?

It’s possible on the carbon ring . Is it making any noise. Pull the pump. Either the pump , the pto or drive shaft are stripped.

I pulled the jet pump out and the impeller. It turns out that I was missing a bearing in the jet pump. Could it be noticing the added vibration because of the missing bearing and be putting it in some sort of limp mode or could it be a broken MPEM

Checked and it actually wasn’t revving past like 3k

How is there a missing bearing in the pump?

I don’t think that it properly Maintained and it got eaten away
