Motor Mount Help!!!!

So I've been put through the ringer lately with my wife's 96 SPX. New MPEM, starter solenoid, kill switch, welded tuned pipe after it erupted on the hose, all new cooling lines and so on. I was putting back together last night, tightening down the tuned pipe, got some pretty good torque on it when the left side of the engine lifted up. Both left side mounts are ripped at the bases. It looks like I can get to both without major disassembly. My question to the community is, how would you guys go about replacing them? One at a time, both taken out at the same time? I don't want to a temp fix, this thing is giving me enough of a headache as it is!!! Thanks for all the help.

Whichever route you take, consider preserving engine alignment unless you will obtain an alignment fixture to confirm crankshaft is aligned, which is always a good idea on any boat or ski.

That was my thought process. Keep shims in exact location and do one and then the other. The ski has been performing fine before my electrical woes.

That's not what I want to do. I already have a basement full of single use crap. I'm already in debt because of this ski, I don't need any other help from different sources. If I can get away without having to align, I'm batting a thousand. I can see the mounts both front and rear. They have not shifted nor is there any binding in the pump and the shaft has some wiggle room in it. If I can keep all that the same, I'm good.

I think it's a straight forward fix, replace the mounts and recheck the engine alignment. You can basically rent the alignment tool from SBT if you don't want to pay full price or bother keeping something you may never use again.

After changing motor mounts, I'd definitely ck the alignment, otherwise it could be an expensive fix at a later date. It's impossible to tell it's aligned rigth without the tool, becomes a crap shoot when overlooking it.

I feel ya man, trust me! It is a crap shoot without though, ask yourself "what if" somewhere in the decision making process. Go price a new ski if you need further justification for sinking more money into your hole in the water. Sometimes we have to do what we have to do, some 3M 5200 and good cleaning of all grease and oil with oil-less solvent can be used to stick broken parts back together even. Will it work? Perhaps, maybe really good but no guarantees. What if it comes apart?
