Great form guys!
Greetings from Ontario Canada.
I'm the new owner of an 98 Speedster with twin 787's.
The boat is mint with less than 50 hours. Compression in all 4 cylinders is 150.
The only issue I have is that the port side motor bogs and usually stalls if you slowly easy on the throttle. If you hammer the throttle wide open it usually will be fine. I have been spending hours on this form and hours with my head upside down in the engine compartment addressing things that might be causing this problem. I'm now 99% sure that my problem is a partly plugged accelerator pump injector in the mag side carb. The PTO carb has a nice straight squirt into the carb, while the other one has this wimpy squirt that sprays off on a wierd angle. I've tried everything to clean this little fitting out. Carb cleaner, compressed air etc. So far, no luck.
I have completely disassembled both carbs twice and cleaned. They really did not look that bad.
My first question is, can I remove (unthread?) this hose barb fitting out of the side of the carb to gain better access to clean the injector or is it permenantly press fit into the carb?
My second question is that I found a very small orfice fitting inside the 1/8 accelerator pump supply line hose. I'm guessing that this must be reinstalled into the new hose that I'm replacing the old line with?
Any suggestion or information regarding this problem will be greatly appreciated.
