Great form guys!
Greetings from Ontario Canada.
I'm the new owner of an 98 Speedster with twin 787's.
The boat is mint with less than 50 hours. Compression in all 4 cylinders is 150.
The only issue I have is that the port side motor bogs and usually stalls if you slowly easy on the throttle. If you hammer the throttle wide open it usually will be fine. I have been spending hours on this form and hours with my head upside down in the engine compartment addressing things that might be causing this problem. I'm now 99% sure that my problem is a partly plugged accelerator pump injector in the mag side carb. The PTO carb has a nice straight squirt into the carb, while the other one has this wimpy squirt that sprays off on a wierd angle. I've tried everything to clean this little fitting out. Carb cleaner, compressed air etc. So far, no luck.
I have completely disassembled both carbs twice and cleaned. They really did not look that bad.
My first question is, can I remove (unthread?) this hose barb fitting out of the side of the carb to gain better access to clean the injector or is it permenantly press fit into the carb?
My second question is that I found a very small orfice fitting inside the 1/8 accelerator pump supply line hose. I'm guessing that this must be reinstalled into the new hose that I'm replacing the old line with?
Any suggestion or information regarding this problem will be greatly appreciated.

I think you going at it the wrong way. The injectors are inside the carb body you do not have to remove any fittings to get to them.

I recommend you get a pop off pressure gauge and test the carb. There is video on another site that is good at detailing how the carb is put together but if i try to link it to it here ill get band. BS

I think maybe I need to provide some new and updated information on my struggle with this pesky accelerator pump issue.
Actually the pump itself is working fine. I do have the shop manual and a pump gauge tester to check it out. The pump itself checks out fine. I'm a mechanic by trade and am quite comfortable working on engines. Its the small nozzles inside the carb's throat that I think may be causing the trouble.
Upon closer examination I've found that the one nozzle inside the port side, MAG carb is NOT injecting straight into throat of the carb. Its pointing about 45 degrees off being centered.
Do you guys think that the squirt of fuel coming from this nozzle, hitting the side wall of the carb instead of shooting straight into the engine would cause the bogging and stalling of this engine while accelerating??? If so, than this boat has likely never run the way it should.
That is why I was asking if the nozzles could be remove from the carb housing. I was told today by my closest Sea Doo dealer that the nozzles are pressed into the housing and are not to be removed. If this is true, I don't know how I'm going to turn the nozzle to get the squirt of fuel shooting where it should be. I'm going to take the carb into them tomorrow to have them look at the incorrectly positioned nozzle.

Just got back from the dealer.
They don't think that the squirt coming from the nozzle and hitting the inside wall of the carb would be causing the bog and stalls.
What do you guys think?
Has anyone out there noticed that their accelerator pump injector nozzles were installed from the factory in such a way that the squirt of fuel does NOT shoot directly into the engine??
Oh well, I guess i'll put it back on and try it again.
