mini jet boat with xp 657 problems

Hey there. New to the board. Im building a mini 10 foot aluminum jet boat. I took all the running gear from a 1993 seadoo xp. After many hours of trying to get the engine to run smooth and or rev up i found my major problem. I opened the front engine cover to look at the flywheel and magnito and i seen that five wires go from the electrical box to the magnito, but only four wires go from the magnito out. Im guessing the guy before me swapped engines into the seadoo and kept the same electrical box, and just sold it off when he Couldn't get it going. The seadoo had" dual carb" branded all over it but the engine is just a single carb. Im guessing i will need a five wire magnito and flywheel? As i did more research i found out that the 717 engines have a four wire stator. More confused than ever now. I don't even know what engine i have?

913360 and date 11/93.

Found a dual carb and intake on Craig's list but no magnito

I would take some pictures of the motor, and post them so we could figure out what what contraption you have. Very cool project. I would love to see a build thread for it.
