Micro Touch with ECWI Substitute!

After buying a hopped up HX with a factory pipe, I started doing some research on what components I would need and what I didn’t have. One of the major components I didn’t have was a Micro Touch or MSD with ECWI, both of which are impossible to find for sale. After doing some research I was able to come up with a substitute.

The Micro Touch does two things:
raises rev limiter to 8,000 rpm
Injects water into the manifold from 2,500 to 5,800 rpm

Problem and solution 1: raising the rev limiter, by getting this mpem you can raise the rev limiter. CDI Box for Sea-Doo 580 / 720 (1995-2002) Adjustable Rev Limiter - VintageJetSki.com

Problem and solution 2: ECWI, buy this: JEGS 40826: RPM-Activated Window Switch with Digital Readout [3 Mode] - JEGS High Performance
This is an rpm activated window switch for cars with nos. This is not designed for water so you have to coat with conformal coating or clear nail polish.

This has 4 wires: red, black, blue, and grey.

Red: splices into solid purple wires on mpem

Black: put ring terminal on the end of the wire and attach to negative post inside of ebox

Blue: goes to the negative side of the solenoid

Grey: needs to be spliced into the red/black wire coming from mpem and going to coil

Water injection solenoid:

I bought the one with 1/4in npt outlets

The solenoid needs to be hooked up with positive going to the fixed-on side of the starter solenoid and negative going to blue wire from the rpm window switch.

I hope this helps with anyone in the same situation as I was, with not being able to find any MT’s with ECWI for sale

Man just got to putting this thing together... How many cylinders do you set it at? 2 seems like about double like it should be. I put it on 4 cylinder and it looks good now is that right?
