I am rebuilding my Mercury M2 240 EFI and have a question on the rod bolts if anyone can answer.. The shop manual lists 3 different torque specs for the crank. In the front of the manual, it lists 120 inch pounds which makes no sense, later in the front of the Powerhead section 4A-9, it lists 20 FT Pounds plus 90 degrees... then in the final section 4A-55, it lists 30 Ft Pounds then 90 degrees.
Anyone experience a rebuild and have the correct spec for this? Must be either 20 or 30 but this is the most important torque in my opinion and I would like to get it right...
