So my new seat cover came in Friday and I was able to install it over the weekend. Overall I would give the experience an 8.5 out of 10. Please keep in mind I give no one a 10!!!!!!
The seat arrived well packaged rolled up in one of the flat rate tubes. They even took the time to wrap the cover in a craft paper prior to putting in the tube. Very good in my opinion as they could easily have wadded the cover up and shipped in a smaller package
Cover quality was very nice. Seams were straight as an arrow and each end notched to help in centering the cover on the seat. Extra foam is already sewn into the upper portion to add comfort as well as aesthetics. Im not sure of the material weight but it appears to be good quality. Its definitely not as heavy weight as say the material used on a boat sundeck, but good material regardless. Seemed to be equal, if not better then the stock seadoo upholstery weight.
Installation was pretty straight forward. Lets face it, all you really do is staple the darn thing to the old seat, its not that complicated. This is where I feel they have a few areas which they could improve on. First thing is the cover was made slightly smaller than the stock seat cover. It took some creative stretching in order to have enough meat to staple the cover to the old seat. Not a horrible task but one which could have been made easier by just a little more meat to pull on. Its easy to cut away excess, its not easy to stretch what is not there. Another is regarding the strap that typically comes on stock seats. I didn't think about it but replacement seat covers do not come with the replacement straps. Its no big deal to me as I didn't want one anyway, but it would have been nice to have had the option. At the the least they could have informed me that if you do not replace the strap you will notice an imprint where the strap used to be. Then I could have possibly left the strap on to fill in the void, or been aware of the issue to begin with. Lastly is the ordering process. Unless you order on ebay you really have no other option than just sending money blindly via paypal. You dont have any form or anything to fill out to specify what you want etc. In my book it was kinda sketchy, but I had read good reviews etc so I went with it. IMO these minor issues could all be addressed if they would just put together a basic website. It would make the company appear more legit and a newbie like myself feel more comfortable about placing an order. They could also post some basic how to videos and help rookies such as myself to tackle a new project.
All in all a good experience and I have what I consider to be a quality product. I cant say they are any better or worse than anyone else but I can say that I am pleased with what I have
