I am considering trying a Western Power Sports HJTX30L-FP-IL Lithium battery in my 2012 RXT 260. Has anyone used this type of battery? What are the drawbacks over traditional lead or AGM batteries if any?

Here was a review of a similar WPS lithium battery:

Thanks for your thoughts.

I've searched the web about this. A lot of motorcycles have installed these light weight batteries. I've read that these batteries failed. Vibrations from the engine and road caused the interior to come apart.
The AGM battery is built more durable seeing that it is not lightweight and is a large selling point. I am on my third year with my AGM.
Maybe they will get better in time.

Sealed AGM battery is the Best. Vented tradional are not good because they vent electrolytes and expose the plates to air then corrode shorting them out.
