Left over pipe.....

Just completing the fuel lines on my 98 gsx limited. Unbolted the carb but didn't take pictures. I have 2 pipes, 1 goes to the top of exhaust but I'm unsure where the other one goes.....

Can someone help please?

I think that's the battery vent line for the old style non-sealed type of battery. So if you got a new sealed battery you don't need it.

Cheers for that. I found a picture which looks like it wasn't connected to anything.

Stressed me a bit wondering where it goes.......

Clear hose is the battery vent, the black looks like a pisser.

The clear one was the one connected to the exhaust and the black one comes from the back end of the ski and goes to no where unless they have been put on wrong previously? Clear one seems to come from the front end

The clear one should hook into the front under the hood. There's a breather port next to the MPEM. That's how mine is.

The black one should go in the top of your exhaust. Not sure where the other end of that one goes.

Other end of exhaust port goes to back of hull and dumps out a tiny port (right side hose):

So that pipe in the picture goes to the top of the exhaust after the carb.

Why does the clear one connect to then?

Yes, correct.

I assume it doesn't matter which one is pluhged in to both side of that port, as long as it has a way to dump out.

Previous owner may have just started plugging things wherever they fit. I'm seeing that as I dive into mine more and more.

Just to check, that left side exit port piping should go around the other side of your engine, and plug right into the top of the exhaust pipe before it meets the screw-clamp. (If yours is similar to mine)

Based on the other input here, the clear one was for old batteries, they needed a vent or something. You shouldn't need it anymore assuming you have a normal battery.

If you follow it to the front, though, you should see it with dump out of the front port side, under the hood, near/behind the MPEM.

I'm assuming it could be deleted if you want to do away with it.

I'll have to have a look in a few days when I'm back at the ski.

Thinking about it now I used to have to streams of water out the back but now I only have one and have had one out the side of the ski so I suspect the clear one vents to the LHS
