Just now got around to firing up the ski for the season. Fired right up but ran like #%!@ under any load. Assumed water in fuel due to tank not being full over the winter. Watched a few videos and decided to dump a few small bottles of 91% isopropyl alcohol into the tank with some fresh high octane gas. After a bit it cleared out and runs like new. It seems that the 91% actually mixes with the water and helped me burn it out. All of the products that advertised they do this actually don’t. Saved me a ton of $ and headaches.

Sounds like you definitely had some bad gas - maybe a little condensation in the tank? I don’t recall all the scientific properties and details, but gasoline doesn’t attract water molecules like diesel fuel does. So not likely for significant water to be in the fuel in most cases. But the alcohol and some fresh fuel did the trick And it was what you needed. My go to fuel system product is Chemtool B12. A can of that every year in a full tank of gas keeps the fuel system and injectors clean And the ski running good. Been doing that for many years.
