So I just picked up a 96 1100zxi. The guy told me its was up on a lift for 2 years and the top hull is pretty faded and cracked up but take off the seat and the motor is super clean.
I got it home , bought a new battery, poured in some fresh gas, hooked up the hose and cranked her and she started. But the magnetic key doesn't stick.
I'm guessing the switch base is energized to create an electromagnet to hold the key? If so do I just replace the key base or am I going in completely the wrong direction?
Paid $550 without trailer and have to replace steering cable. So I think it was a steal. Time will tell.
Also anyone know a good mechanic in the St.Pete Florida area who is reasonably priced?
