Just bought an HX, need help

[MOVMX Racer]

We just bought our first jetski, a pretty built '96 HX, and I saw something that made me wonder. there is a hose coming from under the carb (not sure where) that has a dark fluid in it up to a tee fitting, thich is attached to another hose and a fuel filter like device that goes nowhere. Someone mentioned it may be a homemade flush kit? I don't know. I know it runs fine and I am going to go ride it tomorrow, so i need to know if it is okay.

yeah looks like something added to make winterization easier, as stated in operators manual
