hose tie in

my 1998 gsx project is all put together !! All that is left is to determine the cooling water supply line that ties in to the turned pipe. I was going to put the ski in water, start it up and see which hose has water spitting out to find supply, but I better start it in the drive way first. There are 2 connections in the rear of the ski. One with a 4 in tail on it . which one do I tie the hose to (supply) ? They both seem to have a hose thread on them but I havent tried to put a hose on either connection...thanks for the help everyone...

The one connected to the pump goes to the inlet on the cylinder head. You will see an arrow cast into the head pointing forward.
The pump fitting with the garden hose threads is actually an outflow under normal operation and connects to the head on the fitting with the arrow pointing to the rear.

When you run it on the hose you are reverse flushing the cooling system.
