Hello All I have a 1999 Seadoo GTI with the 717 Rotax and I noticed today that the cooling hose that comes from the rear flush out connection is attached to the out arrow side of the motor head. Is this correct? Not sure but when you flush the engine does it for some reason "back flush" the motor?

Yes to back flush. You can run it with the flow going backwards. Don’t run it for more than a minute or so, you’ll heat up the carbon driveshaft seal. I almost messed mine up the other week as I didn’t know any better at the time.

Hi and thanks for your reply. Just so I understand when the ski is being used on the open water and not being flushed out the hose that comes from the rear flush out connection should be connected to the "IN" side of the motor head?

The flush out connector should go to the "out" arrow on the motor. When you flush out the ski, you are forcing water in the opposite direction then it flows when the ski is sitting in the water.

When flushing, never have the water on without the ski running.

Start motor, water on. Water off, stop motor.
