Help with power train

The last time out with my 96 seadoo GTI the engine would rev high, but no speed. It was almost like the power boats with a rubber insert in the prop and the prop spun out. I disassembled the intake and propulsion jet and found only a small stick in the intake.

Is this drive slipping or was there just something clogging the intake?
