Good morning... having a bit of an issue with our seadoo jetski RXT
Long story short my husband put gas in the oil tank. Apparently this was not good, old gas. We siphoned out what we could, changed the oil, put good gas in the tank. We had a neighbor mechanic come over and take a look at it and determined that spark plug still works, oil level ok, battery ok. At first it would only beep when putting the key in, now it revs up but doesn't kick over to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

RXT? So this is a supercharged 4tec motor?
how long has the fuel been in the oil tank?
How long did you run it with fuel mixed in the oil tank? Its cranking but not starting now?

"now it revs up but won't kick over to start" That comment I can't figure out, if it is "revving up" that only happens when the engine is already started and running. If the engine won't turn over, first check is jump the starter solenoid and see if it turns over (if the battery is truly good). If it wasn't run with gas in the oil and it was changed that would have no effect on the Ski starting.

It's like a clicking (but not the 2 beeps when you put the key in).. it clicks when you press start. Best way to describe it is like a car trying to start but doesn't actually turn on
I just found out today it WAS started with the bad gas in the oil and in that case, from the reading I was doing, it may have destroyed the engine.. getting it looked at tomorrow. Thanks for the reply!

Yes rxt supercharged. Sat Overnight and tinkered with it the following day, and I just found out it was started and ran (about 3 minutes until it stopped) with the bad gas in the oil tank getting it looked at tomorrow, front what I've read the engine may be shot and need to be rebuilt. Thanks for the response!

Happened to me once with a log splitter. Gas went into oil because it was out of balance (yeah, I know this is weird). Result was catastrophic. Engine would run badly. Had to flush all the oil and put some new one. Issue fixed after that. But this is a carb machine. I guess that would be a cause for breaking something.

Benji.

It could be bad it could have wiped out the bearings and journals if it was a lot of gas. Let us know what the shop says. What I would have done first was check to see if the engine turns over by hand after removing the plugs. If it doesn't then it is seized and needs major work. If it turned over then I would be checking the fuses, battery, starter, cables, solenoid, start switch. First check would be jumping the starter solenoid to see if it cranked over with a known good/charged battery
