Help DESS advanced self diagnostic mode

I pressed the start/stop button 5 times without the DESS key in.

But I get nothing after the 5 times.

I read it's supposed to do one short beep then one long beep to notify you, it's in DESS advanced self diagnostic mode. Then you put DESS key on.... and it will either start up or give you more beeping codes.

Any ideas why it won't notify me it's in the DESS advanced self diagnostic mode?

Battery is low, low enough not to crank it.... But I can still put DESS key on like a normal start.... I get two normal beeps and long third beep. That's what prompted me to do the DESS advanced self diagnostic. It will start and run on land at moment.... I'm charging the battery to try it in water.

But... I have had an issue where it wouldn't start, then I start to take DESS key out... and it started... had to put DESS key back on to stop it.

I'm going to get a new battery today. But yes, it will give you two normal beeps... then long beep.... then start. I wanted to put in DESS advanced self diagnostic mode... because that long beep shouldn't be there.
