got ski running after 2 yrs of sitting

i got ski running. got to take it out for a ride today. by the way it was 38degrees today =not fun at all. but my mechanic is a hell of a tech and he figured out what it needed. after sitting for two years and had water in cylinders. started up thing sounds solid it has 47hrs on it. no bog when at full throttle but only thing is idle seems kinda high 1800rpm not sure if thats right. havent got a chance to call him and ask. as soon as i get pics will post them up. hey i got all winter to fix up this thing and hope its ggod to me next summer.:cheers:

Congrats!!....and brrrrrrrrr....LOL!!! 1,800 is not real bad...mine is 1,500 in the water and 3000 on the trailer.

thanks for the info. how about plug in key 2 beeps then 5 sec later 4 fast beeps. not sure just got the thing home today gotta get familiar with it. and ialso saw the dash say sensor. then went away??????????????

What year/model ski?

1500 RPM +/- 50 RPM is the factory spec, so youa re a little fast, but not a HUGE deal, easy to fix though.. Even at 1500 RPM you move along pretty good.

As for the beeps, the 2 beeps means the computer has verified the digital key and is okay to start.

I assume it's an RFI model? As the manual says 4 short beeps = Discharged Battery OR No Communication between MPEM & ECU.

If it's running, I wouldn't *think* it would be the "No Communication between the MPEM & ECU".

Make sure the battery is good and fully charged. If still getting the beeps, It could be a bigger problem, ECU/MPEM, electrical, charging system, etc.

2002 gtx 4tec limited. seems to run ok. i guess i wont know till next spring when i ride it. till then i have alot of learning to do on this awesome web site.

Oh, I didn't realize we were talking about a 4-tec.

If you don't have an owner's manual, I suggest you go to SeaDoo's Website and go to the "Owners Section" there you will find a link to download the Operators Manual for you model.

Read the manual a few times it will help you out alot with the basics. The operator manual also includes a troubleshooting section that will tell you what the various # of beep's mean.
