Gas Question- Wake 170

2022 Wake 170. I was told by the dealer that it is highly recommended to use only PREMIUM fuel, even though owners manual says different, they still said they recommend the premium fuel. Thoughts or comments appreciated. Thanks!

Consider what you would save using Regular / E10, vs Premium, and the potential repair cost and inconveniences of water in your fuel system. I've used E10 in a pinch, but only because I knew I would burn through it completely and in a few days, followed by a full tank of premium. I don't think methyl hydrate is ever recommended, but it does not hurt to use fuel stabilizer all season, every fill-up.

Experienced boaters will tell you: "regular for boatin', is verboten"

Higher octane will not hurt it,,,but will not help,,,it’s to prevent detonation with a higher compression motor,

follow the manual and use a fuel treatment. premium doesn't mean its ethanol free. i use startron and had good results. gas mower and trimmer start right up even after sitting for a season. also used it on the old 2 stroke seadoo and now use it on my 4 stroke seadoo.
