The fuel pump (1.5" diameter, 4" long) is contained inside a large, aluminum cylinder. The cylinder is 3.5" in diameter and 11" long. The cylinder goes from the bottom of the fuel tank all the way up to the top of the fuel tank. Is the aluminum cylinder supposed to be completely sealed such that fuel doesn't get inside of it? Or, is it OK if fuel gets inside of the aluminum cylinder?
