First Ride of the Season

Well, today was the day.

The weather has been threatening to be good enough to get out on the water for a few weeks now. But since I had yet to change the oil and filter (which I promised myself I would do before going out) I still had not gone. I got the oil change pain over with early this afternoon and piled the fam in the vehicle just in time for some of those late afternoon, golden waters.

When was the last time you thought about how great it was to get out on water and just ride? I'm not sure I had ever quite enjoyed it as much as today. It was probably due in part to my kids who laughed and screamed the entire time. Pure joy.

I'd rather have blondes screaming the entire time... that would be pure joy to me! ;-)

I've been out 3 times already this year and I don't live where the weather is nice this time of year. But I had to get the skis out. Went out the first time with my daughter (17) and her cousin (my great neice). 2nd time was me and my son (21). Third time was me and the wife and both the kids. We drove up the river a ways and docked to have dinner on the river. It's these occassions that I don't mind making the payments on both skis because the memories are priceless and it keeps my kids around mom and dad.
