Exhaust leaking

Soooo I'm on vacation and the battery died in my 97 gti. So I hooked up the hose and started it, I noticed that it was leaking around the exhaust manifold and the pipe. It's Saturday night and all the dealers are closed tomorrow. Is there a way to put sealer around it or something

If the gasket is in goodish shape, I would seal it on both sides and use it again. I'm sure others would just remove it, clean it and use only sealant or wait for a new gasket.

So what typically happens is the rubber bushings for the lower pipe connects to the manifold wear out and that causes the pipe to leak and usually break the bolts where the headpipe connects to the manifold.

If you just want to get through the weekend and don't have broken bolts use permatex ultra copper on all gaskets and surfaces. You have to use the gasket as a spacer.
Then order new rubber bushings and a new gasket once you get home.

That sounds like a plan. It's leaking out of this seal between these to pieces.

That is the first place I check for tightness of bolts and nut. When I do any service on my ski's. Make sure the bolt that is on the hull side is tight. It runs toward the engine from the left side. It has a rubber bushing on it. The bolt ties the exhaust manifold to the engine. If it is loose it lets the pipe and manifold vibrate loose. Watch the round quarter sized circles on the exhaust pipe. The get holes and leak water. Rub them and look for and rough spots in the center. It means they are about to fail and get a leak.
