Evinrude XD100

I picked up a 1997 GTX with 175 hours. It ran okay but it kept popping the rave valves off it was either the bellow would come off or the cap was busted in the meantime I added one quart of Evinrude XD100 oil. I read everything on the bottle and it looked like it meant the specifications of the Sea-Doo.... I probably know better now. I finally got the Rave valves fixed but now I have white smoke out of the exhaust it'll run like a champ for about 3 minutes but after that it cuts powered about 40 mph and sputters. Is this a wrong oil issue or do I have something else going on.

It needs to be API-TC rated...and not TC-W3. I wouldn't trust anything that says it will do both. There is a JASO rating(equal to API-TC) also but don't remember it. API-TC is low ash. Typically outboard boat motor oils don't fit our stuff well!

When the ski stops performing well, pull the plugs and see if they looked fouled.

I pulled them this morning after running it with fresh plug and it did it. They did not look terrible but it also only ran about 10 mins. The time before they were fouled.

There is a good chance that XD100 is the same as XPS as BRP repackages a lot of oils for their skis, outboards and snow machines.

But you should never mix two different brands of oils to be safe.

Sounds like your carbs are the issue. Have you gone through them?
Oil injection lever aligned?

I have not gone through them yet I wanted to verify this oil was or was not the cause of my issues. Oil injection lever aligned that's the first time hearing of this one.... This is my first two-stroke experience
