Engine swap

This is my first time doing an engine swap ever, I have a 2002 Seadoo GTI and the engine is bad and I have 951 engine from 2000 Seadoo GSX. Will that work? And any tips and trick on doing it. Do I have to replace the ECU or can I just keep the GTI ecu?

I believe all of the electronics are different, as well as the motor mount configuration. You will basically have to transfer everything from the 951 ski over, and do some fiberglass work to make the mount work. It’s a significant undertaking, and not a weekend job by any means.

The short answer is no, it wont work. Nothing is the same from the exhaust to the engine mounts, noting at all. Just rebuild your engine or get a reman and be done with it.

Can it be done? Yes but you are going to have to make all new motor mounts from scratch and fiberglass them in, all the electronics from the 951 will have to be swapped. You are going to have to make a new exhaust since the 951 is on the other side of the ski. It is totally not worth it.
