Engine stalls when running on normal fuel tank setting

I have a 1995 sea doo gtx when I run on normal tank selection the engine cuts out. When I run on reserve setting I have no problems.
Like having the reserve fuel option. Any ideas on what the problem is with the selector and how to repair the switch.

The cap has a plug you pick out to expose a p2 phillips, remove the screw, grag cap
with a plier and pull off. Then use a 30mm socket to remove the nut, tap the valve into the hull. You should replace those grey tempo fuel lines. About 20' of 1/4". Bill
