Engine revs when steering wheel turned all the way

Noticed that the engine wants to revv up with throttle when I turn the steering wheel all the way to the left or the right.

Is that normal for a single engine?

You have a scary engine.
Those 951 are known to throwing a rod out of the case.
Happens in 3/4 throttle engine gets lean and kamboom from what I've read.

Read up as much as you can on those.
Must go after 100 hours

It may have already happened. The engine was replaced in the boat earlier this year by the previous owner, and I don't have the info as to why...
