Ok guys - I have an 08 Challenger 180 SE. I do a little cruising on the inland waters/bays here in the San Juans. When I do that, I'd like to have an emergency/backup motor just in case (right now the coast guard is my backup). Of course, an oar is good to have and would work in a pinch but it would sure be nice to mount up a little 40-55 thrust electric motor when I go out in the sound.
Has anyone installed something like this on their Seadoo boats? Maybe a bow mount or swimdeck mounted 12v electric motor? Am I crazy? Seems like it would be a straightforward thing to do - maybe even throw a dedicated battery in there.
Something like this:

Thoughts? Photos? And don't say "you shoulda bought a twin"... I know, I know...
Thanks gents...
