I just got a 97 seadoo sp with the 720, i saw that it is detuned to 60hp but other models have the exact same engine but do 85. what is the difference between the 2 and how can i get my sp to be on par with the 85 hp models? Thanks.
ive done some research and it seams the rotary valves are different. the 96 hx 717 which is the same engine has a 159* rotary valve vs the 97 sp 717 with a 132*. could this be the reason for a 25 hp decrease? Also the carbs are slightly different, but both are 38mm openings with same jet size as the 95 xp's 717. So still looking at rotary valve being the reason. Anyone have any info on this would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!
