Picked up a 95 XP and going through refreshing everything, carb rebuilds, fuel lines, etc. This is my first sea doo. Under the hood I found a cut electrical wire, also a nipple at the top of the oil tank without a hose attached, and thirdly a blocked off hose running to the side of the hull. Pics of each attached. Could anyone shed light on what has been cut, plugged off, etc?

I can’t make out the wire . I’m on my phone but the nipple on your oil tank is supposed to be like that. It’s a check valve .

Not sure about the wire, with white casing im not sure that its original, but i could be wrong. Hopefully someone else can answer that one.
As said, oil tank nipple is normal like that and the other blocked off hose running to the side appears to be battery vent. Not needed if your running a sealed battery.

The white wire is not stock and someone has been hacking into the wiring which isn't good. Also you still have gray fuel lines that have to be replaced too.

Yes, have all the replacement fuel lines, doing a carb rebuild, replacing torn boots, changing pump oil, etc. Giving it a refresh.

Guess I’ll have to dig deeper on where this non-factory wire goes. All was running and operational before I started taking apart so wonder if it could have been some aftermarket gauge that was spliced in?

Looks to be 2 wire. Power and ground, perhaps someone had a bilge pump installed at one time?
