Coolant

Looks like my GTI is a little low on coolant. Is there a particular brand or type that I need to add or will any off-the-shelf coolant be good?

Most are now, but make certain it is compatible with aluminum..

The coolant needs to be ethylene-glycol. Antifreeze should be changed every other year. There is a nice Youtube on how to change the antifreeze. I hope this helps.

Thanks. I thought that was the case, but the manual says not to mix.

Be sure to check weep hole. It may be leaking there, which means new water pump seal needed. My two 2014's needed a new seal at 100 hours! Both.
