Considering a 2011 GTI Limited, will I be happy vs stability of a 98' GTX?

As the title says, little info on the 2011 GTI Limited thus far. Rated #2 on personalwatercraft.
Will be using in big water on Georgion Bay. Usual chop of 1-2ft with the odd glass days.
Thoughts?

I've rode a 2000 gti and my 2011 gti, so maybe not quite apple to apples, but very close. My craft is just slightly more stable side to side, front it back its a bit longer so it seems more stable in waves at rest, and goes much better at speeds on the chop. On flat I'm just a bit faster (maybe 2-3mph) but when the water is rough I can pretty much go about the same speed and he losses about 10 mph.

If you like the stability of your 98 GTX, I think you'll find the 2011 GTI LTD stability greatly improved. My first rides (and first loves) were a twin set of '99 GTX LTD's. I sold those to move UP to a twin set of '07 RXT SCIC's. Power an speed aside, its just a huge move up in class, in terms of the ride. Its just a better product

Here's a comparison... the '11 GTI is longer, wider, taller, and heavier.

'98 GTX Length 123" Width 47" Height 37" Weight 635 lbs Engine 787

'11 GTI Length 132.6" Width 48.6" Height 44" Weight 745 lbs Engine 1494

That being said, as much as I enjoyed those GTX's I couldnt imagine going back. Keep doing your research until you're satisfied....

Good Luck to Ya

Thanks for the great responses. I find it really hard to imagine how the gtx is justified when the se 155 or se 155 limited seems to be a great choice.

I you are still looking for input, I just bought a 2012 Wake 155 (last weekend) after putting my 97 GTX to rest :( I'm fairly sure that it shares the same hull and engine as the '11 GTI

The wake is great, not that much faster 55mph to 50mph but the time it takes to get there is!
The iBS (or whatever they call it) is a fantastic addition, its effectively a break combined with the ability to turn on the spot
Handling, I find it much more stable, and smooth, but not as twitchy or aggressive as the GTX, I believe that its due to the new hull as its longer, I can't get the wake to do a full 360 where as the GTX spun round with ease :)

Only put 8 hours on her at the moment to still getting a feeling
