I have an 07 Speedster that I had winterized at the end of the 07 season, and due to out of state work couldn't put it in the water in 08. We took it out over the weekend to see if would crank and the check exhaust started flashing. The boat cranked right up and idled great, but it tried to go dead as we started running. I remembered the man who winterized it telling me he put some sort of plug under the seat, but I can't find it. Is there a plug that could cause this problem, or do I have an even bigger problem?

We started it on the trailer, but it was in the water. I'm not sure what he did when he winterized it, and I'm not sure if the hose was disconnected or not (we paid someone to do it). I took it out without my husband and was told just to check and make sure it had oil and put it in the water. My husband is away at work and will be home Friday. I would like to give him a clue about what might be right and make sure I didn't mess anything up.

Next time see if the exahaust is staying some what cool. The light comes on when the exahuast gets to hot. so either its not cooling right or its a bad censor. you can start it on the trailer in your drive way.

If you put the shifter in forward and look in where the pump is youll see a plastic tub that you screw a garden hose on

steps to start and stop, VERY important to follow this order

1. hook up hose
2. start boat BEFOR turning on the water
3.turn the water on
4. turn off the water
5. turn boat off

Dont run for more then 5min on the hose
When running it the exhaust should stay fairly cool.
